Kane and Buff aren't going anywhere... unless the offer is way too good to refuse. |

Not only should the NHL never go back to the Olympics, international hockey should be abolished as it is a completely pointless waste of time.
Yikes... I guess a Coyotes blogger would be the ultimate authority on completely pointless wastes of time, but c'mon man, turn that frown upside down! |

Well lets be honest the ford jokes are still kinda funny especially the rant he is on today. And i for one thought the 1-0 game was great, a close game like that one breakdown and it could all change. Overall i enjoyed watching the games and pure heart and soul efforts by Slovenia and Latvia. Granted its a different game and we are all entitled to our opinions but I found them to be very entertaining and understand why the players insist on going. I hope they go again 2018. |

Very good start to your blog James, upbeat, and certainly promoting Hockey. Don't quit your night job.
We can debate International Hockey anytime, perhaps it gave the people of Arizona a look at what Hockey is really like. |

The blog was a little rough around the edges yes, but i am sensing some long past resentment from a Jets fan to a yotes fan. |

I for one am psyched the NHL is finally back. I found the Olympics over-hyped, pointless and worst of all, extremely boring. The only exciting game of the tournament was a 1-0 game that featured almost no scoring chances. Everything from the style the teams played, to the lack of intensity, the scheduling and the complete absence of physical play was atrocious. Let’s just admit it: The Olympics sucked. International hockey is a farce with a horrendously unbalanced competition level and I honestly can’t see one positive that came out of these games. Zero Stars is my rating. Not only should the NHL never go back to the Olympics, international hockey should be abolished as it is a completely pointless waste of time.
Finally, we agree on something. 100% agreed. |

I would prefer the NHL not go back to the Olympics. Rather see a variation on something along the lines of the world juniors in Korea next time around.
Strongly disagree with the talent assessment of the Jets. I thought they would be big time playoff contenders this year. From the beginning, I have wondered why Noel continued to alienate his better players. Since Maurice has arrived they have been a very good team. I am inclined to believe a large part of the problem was, in fact, behind the bench. |

Olympics did suck. Only a few games that were entertaining and still a few fingers left on my hand when counting them. No flow to the games at all. The only good thing was the lack of commercials. It was like in overtime. NO commercials. That part I loved That is the way hockey should be played. All the BS commercials selling cars, insurance, beer, and cell phones is disgusting. |

International Hockey is pointless? Maybe having a Coyote fan as a blogger is what's actually the problem. What a piece this is... |

Oh come on. REAL hockey fans have been waiting 4 years for the Olympics and so have the players. Just think of it as a slightly extended All-Star break. |

I would love to find this homogenous "real" hockey fan you are talking about! Where do you get the newsletter that tells you which opinions are cool to have to stay in the club?
All joking aside, I don't like the Olympics, most people seem to and that's cool.
I guess besides the fact that it was crazy boring, the only thing I really have a problem with is that you could hold the games in the summer and have the same rosters, but because they are not called "Olympics" they are somehow not as important. This makes no sense.
There are a ton of positives to holding the tourny in the summer, and not a single logical one for being a part of the Olympics besides the cache that "Olympics" have.
Its cool to disagree, however: Another unpopular opinion I hold is that when someone disagrees with you that they are not automatically an idiot.

The Canada Cup used to be awesome. I doubt it drew any viewers who weren't already hockey fans, but the games were great and it was the "Olympics" for NHL players. It certainly seemed important to the players at the time...not sure if today's players would feel the same way. |

Yes, because there's so many fake fans from Chicago commenting on a Phoenix Coyote blog |

The "real" comment wasn't a shot at anyone... What I meant is that as fans it's something to look forward to, as (I would assume) it would be for players as well. I like the idea of having international play in the summer, as long as the rosters were the same. However to make it meaningful they would definitely need to rid the NHL from the Olympics (Being in South Korea in 2018 suggests that is highly likely). Something like a "World Cup" of hockey would definitely be awesome.
